Lukas R.A. Wilde is a Professor at the Department of Art and Media Studies. His research interests focus on generative AI-imagery as well as on the aesthetics and visuality of a range of contemporary media forms and transmedia characters/franchises. Together with Prof. Aurora Hoel, is the leader of the NTNU research network on “AI Media” and part of the steering committee in “AIsthesis: Network for research on the aesthetics of AI imagery.” Recent publications include Transmedia Character Studies (with Tobias Kunz, Routledge 2023), Generative Imagery: Towards a ‘New Paradigm’ of Machine Learning-Based Image Production, special-themed issue of IMAGE: The Interdisciplinary Journal of Image Sciences 37 (1) (co-edited with Marcel Lemmes and Klaus Sachs-Hombach, 2023), as well as AI Aesthetics: AI-Generated Images between Artistics and Aisthetics (co-edited with Jan-Noël Thon).
